Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT)
For individuals who are unable, or unwilling to undergo a colonoscopy, FIT testing can provide an alternative screening option for colon cancer. FIT testing is utilized by numerous healthcare organizations to close gaps in care and improve screening rates.
FIT Testing
CRL’s Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) is a simple, non-invasive screening stool test that uses antibodies to detect blood in the stool. The presence of blood may be a sign of lower gastrointestinal bleeding that may be associated with conditions such as hemorrhoids, diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, polyps, colorectal cancer, or other gastrointestinal lesions that can bleed. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends screening for colorectal cancer beginning at age 45.

Accurate Test Results You Can Trust
The FIT uses antibodies to detect blood in the stool. Unlike some other tests, it specifically looks for human blood from the lower intestines, which makes it more accurate and less likely to be affected by foods or medications. This is important because the presence of blood can be an early sign of colon cancer or other conditions like polyps in the colon.
